Our New Manager Training course is designed for new or recently appointed managers, team leaders, or supervisors. We aim to equip you with essential management skills, incorporating organisation, motivation techniques, communication skills, managing performance, and handling challenging situations.
This course runs as part of our popular Management Skills course, geared towards giving you the confidence to begin managing others effectively. We also offer progression to certification (see tab “QQI Certification” below).
If you have a number of candidates for New Management Training, in-house (also called 'in-company' and 'on-site') training is a very effective and cost-efficient way to up-skill a group at the same time.
You choose the delivery dates and format (classroom or virtual). We will tailor the course content around the specific skills your management team need, ensuring the training is highly relevant to your business.
A great first experience with PD and would recommend to fellow colleagues. Preparation was straightforward and clear. The uploading of certain materials and helpful articles was extremely useful. I found the way that the course was structured really helpful – the combination of whole group discussions and smaller ‘breakout’ rooms with one or two others meant that there was plenty of time to discuss minutiae of the course and individual experiences. The ‘Over to You’ segments and time given over to reflect upon new learnings meant that I was really able to absorb course content and apply it to my own working situation.
The booking process was simple and straightforward, and [my training consultant] was extremely helpful in providing the details necessary for us to receipt the invoice correctly. [The trainer] was an excellent teacher and guide. She encouraged people to speak up and share their own experiences in lively group discussion sessions, and allowed sufficient time for self-reflection.
I felt the two-day course was run extremely well. It touched on many topics that can be applied to most managerial situations, without being too detail-heavy (we were encouraged to examine the uploaded materials at our own leisure and further our own research in our spare time).
The virtual class worked really well. It allowed me to attend a course that I otherwise would likely not have done in person and the technical aspects of [virtual training] (e.g. Breakout rooms) meant that the training and discussions could be divided up to keep things moving.
Very informative course and very well presented. Clear, concise and relatable. Enjoyed the course, thought I would struggle with it online as I enjoy classroom style. However it was very engaging and enjoyable.
As I am quite new to the role, I enjoyed hearing from others and their experiences too. Content was very clear and easy to follow. Really benefited from the engagement and the drop off rooms the trainer created, she kept our attention high and it was great to learn from others. I feel I will definitely be taking lots away going forward in my role.
Overall I feel I learned lots and enjoyed this course. I would recommend it to others.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and wouldn't change a thing. The onboarding process was very straightforward. I thought the content was really useful. I loved how we had to apply our own situations to the different exercises.
I thought the trainer was excellent, easy to listen to, used excellent examples, personable and brought fun to the course. It was great as the course really covered more than just managing people and has definitely given me some skills to help me manage me and my time better. I preferred the virtual class.
